Second Turkish Proficiency Exam of the Year 2018 was organized at 39 Places at the same time

The Yunus Emre Institute organized the second Turkish proficiency exam of the year 2018 on Saturday, May 5th 2018. 700 candidates applied for the exam held at the same time in 39 different places. The highest number of applications was made from Azerbaijan by 394 persons.

The Turkish Proficiency Exams  (TYS) are held in two sessions. In the first session, reading, listening and writing skills are measured while in the second session speaking skills are measured. The  candidates who participate in the exam to certify their proficiency in Turkish are issued B2, C1 or C2 certificates according to their scores if they are successful in the exam.

The Turkish Proficiency Exams are organized to standardize Turkish exams at an international level and support the policies aimed at facilitating the admission of foreign students in Turkey. Those who obtain certificates of proficiency in Turkish  as a result of such exams are exempt from having to attend Turkish preparatory classes when they are admitted to universities in Turkey.  Besides students, certificates of proficiency in Turkish also provide an advantage for those individuals who want to work for international companies operating in Turkey or in their own countries, for those who want to work as Turkish translators or for candidate teachers who want to teach Turkish in other countries.      

Great Interest by Azerbaijanis in Turkish Universities

The students who participate in the Foreign Students Exam (YÖS) and who are entitled to be admitted to universities in Turkey show great interest in the Turkish Proficiency Exams. The Azerbaijani students who want to study in Turkey and who succeed in the (YÖS) also take great interest in the exams. The students seek exemption from Turkish preparatory classes by obtaining Certificates of Proficiency in Turkish.    

Next Turkish Proficiency Exam on 28 July 2018 

The next Turkish Proficiency Exam will be organized on 28 July 2018 for which applications will start on 18 June 2018. Turkish proficiency exams are organized three times per year in January, May and July. The applications for the exams start to be taken one month before the exam and the results are announced within 20 days.
