Yunus Emre Institute Introduces Turkish Culture to the People of Sarajevo

Yunus Emre Institute in Sarajevo, the first overseas representative office of the Institute, remains committed to hosting events aimed at introducing Turkish culture and language to broad audiences.

Yunus Emre Institute in Sarajevo hosted a program featuring a series of events called “Open House.”

During the program held at the Institute, details were provided about the Turkish courses scheduled to commence in Sarajevo the following week.

Furthermore, practical demonstrations of traditional Turkish arts such as ebru and illumination were provided, alongside the introduction of various Turkish cuisine delights to the people of Sarajevo.

Mehmet Akif Yaman, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscored the mission and vision of the Institute.

Coordinator Yaman highlighted that the Yunus Emre Institute operates across a vast geographical area with almost 90 representative offices in nearly 70 countries, noting, “We are proud to state that Sarajevo is the first representative office established by the Institute abroad. Every year, we undertake numerous significant projects and activities aimed at promoting Turkish culture. We organized this event to introduce the upcoming Turkish courses starting next week and to provide information about the various initiatives conducted by our Institute across Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

Faruk Berat Akçeşme, Education Counselor at the Embassy of Türkiye in Sarajevo, joined the event and presented the “Türkiye Scholarships” offered by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). These scholarships provide international students from across the globe with the chance to pursue studies in Türkiye.
