“Yunus Said a Word’’ Now Available on Digital Platforms

Yazıcı-dostu sürüm

Five poems of Yunus Emre were composed and sung by the artist Arslanbek Sultanbekov as part of the “Yunus Said a Word’’ project conducted by Yunus Emre Institute. The works came together in the album “Yunus Said a Word’’. The album takes its name from a line in Yunus Emre’s poem “Çıktım Erik Dalına (I went up to the plum branch)’’.

Many voices and saz artists from different countries came together for the original compositions of the poems, which gained a new breath with the performances of six musicians, using more than 20 musical instruments in each piece. The verses written centuries ago, accompanied by various authentic instruments from kopuz to dombra, copo coor to cura and rebaba, met with music. In the project where every stage, from studio to video clip shooting, from album recording to the promotional concert, was carried out by Yunus Emre Institute, the Institute made a music album for the first time as a producer.

The album, whose promotional concert was performed by the Institute on March 22, 2022, at the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Ada Campus, took its place on social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Tik Tok, and digital music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music , Youtube Music , Fizy , and Muud as of May 6 this year. The first video clip of the album “Ah Nideyim Ömrüm Seni’’ shot for Yunus Said a Word, was also presented to music lovers on Yunus Emre Institute’s YouTube channel.
